1. It's slow on a phone
Most local searches happen on phones — often on spotty data in a parking lot on MacArthur Road or between errands in Bethlehem. If your page takes five seconds to show anything, a large share of visitors hit back and call the next result.
Fix: Run your site through Google's free PageSpeed Insights. Compress huge photos, remove sliders and auto-playing video, and drop plugins you don't use. If the score is still poor, the platform itself may be the problem.
2. The phone number is hidden or not tappable
We regularly see phone numbers only in the footer, inside an image, or written as plain text that can't be tapped. Every extra step loses callers.
Fix: Put a tap-to-call button at the top of every page and keep it visible as people scroll on mobile. Add a short form for people who prefer not to call — and make sure it actually reaches you by email and text.
3. It doesn't say what you do and where
"Quality you can trust since 1998" tells a visitor nothing. In the first screen people need to know what you do, which towns you serve, and what to do next.
Fix: Rewrite your top headline to something like "Family dentistry in Emmaus — new patients welcome" with one clear button. This also helps Google understand your page.
4. There's no local proof
Lehigh Valley customers want to know you're real and nearby. Stock photos, no reviews and no address make a business look like a lead-reselling site.
Fix: Show real photos of your team and work, pull in a few Google reviews with names and towns, and mention neighborhoods you serve. Live examples like these on our website examples page show what that looks like.
5. Visitors can't tell if you're in their budget
People hesitate to call when they have no idea whether you charge $100 or $10,000. Many will call a competitor who gives at least a starting price.
Fix: Publish starting prices or typical ranges, even if every job is quoted. "Most bathroom refreshes run $8,000–$15,000" filters bad fits and builds trust with good ones.
6. Nobody can find it in the first place
Sometimes the site converts fine — it just never appears for searches like "accountant Allentown." That's a visibility problem, not a design problem.
Fix: Connect the site to a complete Google Business Profile, create pages for each main service and town, and keep your listings consistent. Start with our Allentown 3-Pack guide, or let us handle it:
