1. Google Local Service Ads
Pay per lead, but the lead calls only you. You get the "Google Guaranteed" badge at the very top of search. You can dispute bad leads for credit — something most lead sites make hard.
2. Google Business Profile
Free and often the biggest source of calls for local trades. Steady reviews, weekly photos and correct service areas push you into the Map Pack. Start with our profile optimization guide.
3. Your own website
A site that ranks for "[trade] [city]" brings leads at no cost per lead. It also makes every other channel convert better because people check you out before calling. See websites for contractors and why a website might not produce leads.
4. Thumbtack and Yelp
Useful for filling a slow calendar. Set tight service areas and job types, and reply fast — first response wins most jobs.
5. Nextdoor and local Facebook groups
Neighbor recommendations carry trust you can't buy. Ask happy customers to tag you when someone asks for a recommendation.
6. Referral program
Offer past customers a gift card or discount for every booked referral. Send a short follow-up email or text a week after the job. Our email follow-up guide has ready-made sequences.
7. Commercial contracts
One property-management or HOA contract can replace dozens of one-off leads. Start with the Commercial Growth Center and the commercial bid guide.
